I tutored throughout my years spent attending Stony Brook University where I earned a degree in Biochemistry. I have worked with students both one-on-one and in small groups. Much of my tutoring work was performed for a program called Women in Science and Engineering. The goal of this program is to encourage women to realize their potential in engineering- and science-related career fields. When I begin tutoring new students, I first get to know them and their learning styles. Then, I can teach them in a way that is tailored to their learning style, and I never move from one lesson to the next until I am sure a student understands the current concept or material thoroughly. Subjects I can tutor include anatomy, biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, and other science-related courses. I can also tutor English, help students prepare for the MCAT test, and help write great college essays. When not tutoring, I enjoy reading, rock climbing, playing badminton, playing tennis, and pepakura.
